Richard Thomas McPeek III

On Wednesday the 8th of February our ranch family experienced a tragic loss. Rich McPeek passed away much too young and far too soon. He was a good friend, a fine young man, and a good cowboy. He will be missed more than words can express. His smile, his laugh, and his wonderful personality would light up the whole ranch. We truly feel like we've lost a member of our family and our hearts ache from missing him. Our sincere condolences go out to Rich's family and friends. They are in our thoughts and our prayers.

Memorials may be made to:
Pleasant Valley Fire Department, Fort Mill, SC, 29715;
or
The American Diabetes Association, 222 S. Church St., Suite 336M, Charlotte, NC, 28202.

Our pig roast on saturday was a huge success!! Thank you to EVERYONE who came in and spent the day with us here at the ranch...your generosity is so greatly appreciated. It was a beautiful, sunny day...we were blessed and honored by the attendence of Rich's parents and brother...and by the presence of so many of his friends. Rich's spirit could truly be felt with us all day.

Everyone had a wondeful time, the food was delicious (good work on that pig, guys and kudos to Zacks mom Tammy on the homemade potato salad and cole slaw!!!), the guys kept the horseshoe pit busy, Crazy knew he was the "horse of the hour" and obliged us all with quite a show, music was provided by the wonderful CD that Mrs. McPeek brought of Rich's favorite country music.

By the end of the day there were stuffed people and ranch dogs everywhere! Dixie ate her weight in barbecue...

We were blessed to have had Rich while we did....and we continue to be blessed to have added his wonderful family and friends to our family here at Larkspur.

All donations were put towards helping Zach offset the cost of purchasing and keeping Rich's horse "Crazy". This was done in accordance with and approval of Rich's family Thank you all so much for your generosity.
